Adam Kent: Solider that knew Juliette when he was a child. Love interest. He--somehow--can touch Juliette without being injured or killed.
Warner: Leader of Sector 45, seen as cruel and heartless. He has an adoration toward Juliette and wants her. A discovery is made that he, too, can touch Juliette without anything happening.

Setting
The book starts off in an asylum, moves to the military base of Sector 45, and ends at Omega Point, a secret, underground rebellion.

Where The Book Left Off
Adam and Juliette escape Warner's watchful eyes and head to the home of Adam's little brother, where they stay for a night. There they run into Kenji, who was also at Sector 45. Kenji wants to bring them to a secret society of people against the new government. Warner's men interfere and Adam is captured and set up to be killed. Juliette is able to save him, in the process realizing just how much strength she has. They then go with Kenji to the rebellion group, Omega Point, hoping that they will be able to get medical attention for Adam, who was hurt in the process of his capture. They discover that many of the people in the organization have powers, though not like Juliette's. In the end it is revealed that Warner is still hunting for them.
