Look no further! We've got your summaries here - and if by chance we don't, you can request it. You'll never have to re-read for anything but fun again!Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00923267275995905520noreply@blogger.comBlogger16125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-870388802324307777.post-7117638712399971142013-05-26T20:22:00.000-07:002013-05-26T20:22:28.109-07:00We're Back!Hello, readers! Series Sisters is back--not that we were ever gone. We just haven't posted in a while because, well, life (school) got in the way. But! The school year is almost over (thank gosh) and that we means we have time to do other, not-school things--like getting back on track with Series Sisters! However, we can't do it alone.

We--Rachel and Tabitha, the Series Sisters--can only read so many books and do so much work. But with everyone together, we can read so many more books and do much more work. So here's what you can do.

Request a book. Are you getting ready to read a book but you don't remember anything that happened in the book before it? And you don't have time to reread the previous book (or don't want to)? Then just fill out the form and we'll do what we can to get that book summarized and refresh your memory!

Submit a summary. This is where we could use the most help. By submitting a summary, you provide us with information needed to make a summary that we can post. You can post all the information we request (see: submit a summary page for more info) or just what you know; anything helps. You can submit a summary for anything: something someone requested, or a book you read that you want to put on Series Sisters. (You don't have to submit a summary for requested books only.)

Very soon we're going to add a new page that lists all the requests we've received for books that people would like summarized. This will make it easier for everyone, and that way everyone knows a) what we would like submitted and b) what's already been requested. For now, here's a list of requests we've gotten over the past few months that could use summaries.

The Covenant Series by Jennifer Armentrout (excluding Apollyon)
The Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong (excluding The Reckoning)
The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare (excluding Clockwork Princess)
The Chemical Garden Trilogy by Lauren DeStefano (excluding Sever)
The Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick (excluding Finale)
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris
The Paranormalcy Trilogy by Kiersten White (excluding Endlessly)

That should be everything! If you have any questions, feel free to comment on this post, or contact us using the methods on our Contact page.

We look forward to getting Series Sisters back up this summer and working hard on it. It's going to be fun!Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00923267275995905520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-870388802324307777.post-34740019260143213982013-02-26T19:25:00.000-08:002013-02-26T19:25:24.952-08:00The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

Once a century, one person is chosen for greatness.
Elisa is the chosen one.

But she is also the younger of two princesses, the one who has never done anything remarkable. She can't see how she ever will.

Now,
on her sixteenth birthday, she has become the secret wife of a handsome
and worldly king—a king whose country is in turmoil. A king who needs
the chosen one, not a failure of a princess.

And he's not the
only one who seeks her. Savage enemies seething with dark magic are
hunting her. A daring, determined revolutionary thinks she could be his
people's savior. And he looks at her in a way that no man has ever
looked at her before. Soon it is not just her life, but her very heart
that is at stake.

Elisa could be everything to those who need her

Characters
Lucero-Elisa de Riqueza, "Elisa" —
Narrating protagonist. Second daughter of King Hitzedar of Orovalle,
married to King Alejandro of Joya D'Arena. Elisa is overweight and is an
anxiety/comfort eater. At her naming ceremony, she was chosen by God
for a special purpose, and she wears a blue gem, "Godstone", in her
navel. Though Elisa is not beautiful like her older sister and does not
often leave the classroom, she has devoted her life to studying
scripture and military strategy. After her marriage to Alejandro, Elisa
proves herself to be quick-thinking in dangerous situations and willing
to play political games.

Ximena — Elisa's guardian and
mother-figure. In the beginning of the novel she reveals herself to be a
highly trained scribe and willing assassin. She has been charged with
keeping Elisa safe so she can fulfill God's plans.

King Alejandro — A widower king
with a young son, Alejandro marries Elisa in order to get additional
troops to fight the Invierne army. He is a careful and sometimes
indecisive leader, and he's afraid to fully engage his kingdom in a war.
He is affectionate to Elisa but his feelings never go further than
that.

Prince Rosario — Alejandro's six
year-old son. He's been spoiled and ignored by his father his entire
life, but he takes a shine to Elisa when she proves herself
trustworthy.

Lady Ariña — Alejandro's mistress
and a sort of rival to Elisa. She comes from the eastern regions of
Alejandro's kingdom, where her father is a high-ranking noble. She care
deeply for her people and is willing to commit treason for their safety.

Conde Treviño — Lady Ariña's
father. He is "ruler" of the eastern regions of the kingdom, and is
unwilling to enlist Alejandro's aid because he knows the king is afraid
of war. Instead, he strikes a bargain with the Inviernes on his own,
hoping they will spare him. He also tries to hand Elisa over to the
enemy.

Lord Hector — Royal Guard in
Alejandro's service. Becomes friends with Elisa almost immediately, and
supports her as she navigates political issues. Stays in Elisa's service
when she becomes queen after Alejandro's death.

Father Nicandro — Priest in the
kingdom of Joya D'Arena. Becomes a spiritual mentor to Elisa. He helps
her stay close to God and determine what He wishes her to do. Provides
information about Godstones and helps Elisa learn more about her task.

Condé — A spy from the eastern
regions of Alejandro's kingdom, Condé is initially Elisa's (reluctant)
maid, but once she discovers that Elisa bears the Godstone, she and
other easterners kidnap Elisa and take her across the desert to their
village. Over time, Condé becomes a friend and supporter of Elisa's, and
the two gain an understanding.

Humberto — Condé's younger
brother. Elisa first meets him after being kidnapped, and the two form a
close connection. Humberto falls in love with Elisa and is hurt when
she reveals that she is already married. Even so, the attraction between
the two continues to grow. After his throat is slit by one of Conde
Traviño's guards, Humberto dies in Elisa's arms.

Setting
The kingdom of Joya D'Arena. The coastal capital city, Brisadulce, as well as the central desert, and hills in the east.

Where The Book Left Off
Elisa and her rebel friends travel to meet with Conde Traviño to
negotiate peace and deal with his treasonous actions. They are taken
captive there, and Humberto is killed trying to protect Elisa from being
handed over to the evil Invierne army. Lord Hector rescues Elisa and
her friends from the Conde's prison and reveals that the capital city,
Brisadulce will soon be under siege. Elisa travels back west with Hector
and impresses the court with her newfound strength and bravery (and
slimness). King Alejandro officially crowns her queen two days later,
just as the enemy arrives at the city walls. The city is soon overrun
with Invierne, but Elisa harnesses the power of her Godstone as well as
four other Godstones from previous bearers, and kills the opposing
animagi, thereby driving away the Inviernes. Alejando is wounded in the
act, and dies a few days afterward, naming Elisa Queen Regent until
Prince Rosario comes of age. Elisa's first act is to name Condé Queen of
Basajuan, giving the eastern people their freedom and autonomy.

After an encounter with Samjeeza, where both Clara and her mother use Glory to fight him off, Clara realizes he is responsible for the forest fire from her vision and heads off to where she's supposed to meet Christina and fulfill her purpose. With a phone call from Wendy telling Clara she can't get a hold of Tucker and that she's worried about him, Clara realizes she has a decision to make: stay in the spot from her vision, or, save Tucker. Clara races off to find Tucker, finding him near his patch of land in Palisades. Flying him to safety, Clara runs into her mother who orders her to go after Christian. Reaching the spot from her vision, she can tell she's too late - the land is scorched and Christian is nowhere to be found. When she finally finds Christian he apologizes for not saving her - and Clara realizes that he's a fellow angel-blood. They almost kiss, before Clara says her heart belongs to Tucker and that she can't. They both question having failed their purposes, but reach no definitive conclusions about the consequences. When they return to Clara's home, Jeffrey isn't far behind them. He shows up, carrying a backpack, with wings "nearly black, the color of lead." He refuses to explain his absence, says something about Clara not being the only person with a purpose, and his dark wings are left unanswered. Before flying Tucker home, Clara shares a passionate kiss with him, solidifying that she has chosen Tucker over Christian.

Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning..

Adam and Juliette escape Warner's watchful eyes and head to the home of Adam's little brother, where they stay for a night. There they run into Kenji, who was also at Sector 45. Kenji wants to bring them to a secret society of people against the new government. Warner's men interfere and Adam is captured and set up to be killed. Juliette is able to save him, in the process realizing just how much strength she has. They then go with Kenji to the rebellion group, Omega Point, hoping that they will be able to get medical attention for Adam, who was hurt in the process of his capture. They discover that many of the people in the organization have powers, though not like Juliette's. In the end it is revealed that Warner is still hunting for them.

Cassia wakes up one morning to screaming - only to walk outside and realize that Ky is being taken away. He's being sent to become a solider on the Outer Banks, which everyone knows is a death sentence. The Officials come to break up the altercation and ask everyone to take their red tablets. Cassia destroys her and the official supervising lets her do it. The red tablet causes the users to lose the last 12 hours of their memory, successfully making them forget about Ky's new position. The next day, Cassia and her family find out their being relocated to the Farmlands. Cassia is upset about this and leaves to find Ky. She ends up at the museum and rather than trading a valuable for information she settles on just examining the items around her.

Before her and her family leave for the Farmlands - the official who monitored the taking of the red pill, informs her that her relationship with Ky was all apart of an experiment - but she also finds out that the Society has no idea who put Ky's name into the matching pool. Before leaving, Xander gives her the materials she needs to find Ky - and also asks her to be open to the idea of choosing him. Because of the red tablets, Cassia's family doesn't remember what happened to Ky - only that he's gone. But they do know that she loves him and they offer to help her. The novel ends with Cassia on the train to her new home waiting for her chance to find Ky.

Hello, and welcome to Series Sisters, created by Rachel at Beauty and the Bookshelf and Tabitha at Tabitha's Book Blog! And now that you're here (yay!) you may be wondering what this is--and I'm going to tell you!

This blog was created for when readers have a certain, all-too common problem when reading a series: they forget what happened in the previous book(s). Even worse, they start reading the newest book and ask questions, like Who is this? and When did that happen? It's never fun to read a book and be lost, feeling like you jumped into a series midway when you actually started in the beginning. This and that happened, and then Series Sisters was created: a place to go and get refreshed about what happened earlier in a series. May you never feel lost reading a book in a series again!

BUT.

We can't do this ourselves. We can only read so many books, after all. For the series that we have read (and remember!) we'll do our absolutely best to get them posted, because we're sure some of you have forgotten what happened throughout those series. (We definitely have!) This is where you come in. You, too, can be a part of Series Sisters! Here's how:

Become A Contributor
Do you remember what happened in a series? Then share your memory! All you have to do is fill out the form (and not even the whole thing; as much as you can!) and when we have enough information--and it's usable, of course--we'll post it! (And let the world know that you contributed!) It's simple, and it helps us get more series posted on here.

But what if you want a series on the blog, but you don't remember what happened? Never fear! You can...

Request A Book
Just go to the form and say what book(s) you want to see on the blog, and if we haven't read it, we'll ask around to find someone who has! As soon as we can, we'll get the series posted on the blog. That's it!

If you have any questions, comments, unwanted chocolate, just tell us! You can comment on the blog, email us at seriessisters@gmail.com, or tweet us--@RachelllRaeee and @tabbs55!

We look forward to seeing this blog blossom into a giant, pollen-free flower, and having your help along the way. Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to Series Sisters!
Where The Book Left Off
Bella saves Edward from death-by-Volturi, but the Volturi want Bella to become a vampire. Edward and Bella, along with Alice, return to Forks, where the Cullens have moved back to. Edward and Bella, happily reunited, are on different sides of the line as to whether or not Bella should be a vampire. Bella says yes, Edward says no. In the end, by the votes of the Cullen family members, Bella wins--she'll be turned after graduation. Carlisle said he'll do it, but she wants Edward to. Edward--still against Bella going vamp--says he'll change her on one condition: if she marries him. Bella says no, but it's not the end of that subject. The book ends with Bella grounded for life, her being back with Edward, and Jacob with his tail between his legs (aka upset that he didn't get Bella, because he was super close).

Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. Where The Book Left Off
After her accident (in which James almost killed her and she almost turned into a vampire), Bella decides she wants to stay in Forks with her father, resulting in upsetting her mother for a short amount of time. Fast forward a few months and Edward surprises Bella by taking her to prom. At the prom, Jacob comes to pass on his father's message to "beware of Edward" (he was bribed with car parts). Edward and Bella dance outside, and he asks her what she thought they were going to be doing that night. Embarrassed, Bella admits to her assumption that'd she be changed into a vampire. Edward gets upset, but then teases her by kissing her neck and asking "Did you really think I'd give in that easily?" The book then ends with Bella and Edward looking out at twilight, and the question: Did he turn her or not?

Where The Book Left Off
After the Dauntless initiation, Tris comes to the conclusion that the way Erudite will control Dauntless is through the serum that they've been injected with. (The serum does not work on Divergent) Dauntless then continues to travel to Abnegation where they kill government officials. Four and Tris immune to the serum and immediately try to prevent what's happening. Jeanine finds them and injects Four with a special serum that will put him under the same trance as the rest of Dauntless. Tris is then locked in a room where she is expected to drown. Her mother then rescues her and reveals that she is too in fact Divergent. Her mother then sacrifices her life so Tris will be able to reunite with the rest of her family. Caleb has rejoined them after studying the serum (because he's from Erudite) and learning what Jeanine's plans were.

As they make their way to Dauntless headquarters - Tris comes across Peter who was not injected with the serum. The two fight, but ultimately come to a semi-compromise because Tris needs Peter for information on the computers and Peter doesn't want to die. Her father then sacrifices his life, so Tris will be able to succeed. Upon entering the control room, Four attacks Tris - but he is able to wake himself up from the serum. They then shut down the system and continue to jump a train to Amity.
